Understand what truly motivates people within your team

Practical info

During a DISC Motivations training, you'll discover what truly motivates people and where energy is generated or lost. You'll gain insight into the motivations within your team and learn how to specifically improve collaboration, engagement, and performance.

Do you recognise this problem?

You have a team that looks good on paper. Yet, you notice that not everyone is equally motivated.

  • Some people take little initiative
  • Others seem to do too much.
  • Motivation differs per person
  • What works for one person doesn't work at all for another

You are trying to influence behaviour, but notice that this does not always work.

The reason? Behaviour is visible, but motivations lie beneath it.

DISC Training
DISC drijfveren zijn een gedragsmodel dat vier fundamentele menselijke gedragstypes beschrijft: Dominantie, Invloed, Standvastigheid en Zorgvuldigheid.

Where DISC While normal insight into behaviour, with DISC we look at the motivation behind that behaviour.

Why does someone do what they do?

Within DISC motivations, we look at:

  • What gives someone energy
  • What someone values
  • What someone needs to function well
  • Where energy leaks

This goes a layer deeper than just behaviour. In combination with DISC styles, a complete picture emerges:

  • Hoe iemand zich gedraagt
  • Why someone behaves in a particular way (motivations)

Many teams focus on behaviour, but forget motivation.

Consequence

  • People do what is asked of them, but without energy.
  • Frustrations remain invisible
  • Talents are not being optimally utilised.

With insight into DISC Motivations discover you:

  • What motivates someone
  • Where someone is being taken advantage of
  • How to manage people better

For example:

  • Someone with a need for autonomy becomes frustrated with micromanagement.
  • Someone who values certainty feels insecure with constant change

This insight allows you to better respond to what people need.

How do DISC drivers work in teams?

In a DISC Drivers training, we look at both individuals and the team.

Step 1: Analysis of driving forces

Team members fill in an analysis which makes it clear:

  • What their main motivators are
  • What gives energy and costs

Step 2: Insight and Awareness

The team learns:

  • Recognising your own drivers
  • Understanding differences between colleagues
  • Why behaviour sometimes clashes

Step 3: Translation to Collaboration

Let's make it practical:

  • Hoe motiveer je verschillende teamleden?
  • Hoe voorkom je demotivatie?
  • Hoe creëer je een omgeving waarin iedereen floreert?

Stage 4: Application in practice

With practical exercises, the team learns:

  • Better communication
  • More effective collaboration
  • Understanding each other better

Practical example

A team noticed that the workload was high and motivation low.

The analysis revealed:

  • Part of the team needed freedom
  • Another part actually needed structure

Consequence

  • One group felt restricted
  • The other group felt unsafe.

During the DISC Drivers training:

  • Will this be made insightful
  • Will work agreements be adjusted
  • Did everyone get more of what they needed

Result

  • More energy in the team
  • Less frustration
  • Better performance

The group was very enthusiastic and positive about the team building

Very nice, we all got to know each other better in a slightly different way. Nice to also receive a report of the DISC analysis to review later. Thanks for the fun morning!

In addition, Demian was a very good mood setter and very approachable and really thinks with you.

We did very nice team-building activity. It was fun to work together in a different way and to get to know each other on a different level. We were fairly last minute with our outing, but we still managed to make it a very fun day and evening. Chapeau!
